Nina Falk







Nina Falk: “When I create glass I am inspired by a lifetime as a classical violinist. I'm in love with color and light and flow, and my work is an abstract, playful exploration of nature and music. Working with glass allows me to integrate my experience and love of both. My goal is to create glass that expresses the 'oneness' of all life.”


Esta artista trabaja el vidrio con la intención de generar una visión de los ritmos,tanto de la música como de la naturaleza.

Jim y Renee Engebretson







Jim has been blowing glass for over 35 years, beginning as a student at the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and continuing his studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, receiving an MFA in 1973. Renee also began working with glass as a student at UW-River Falls, receiving a BFA in 1985. The glass pieces seen here are a culmination of over twenty years of working together.

Jim se dedicó al vidrio soplado durante más de 35 años, comenzando como un estudiante en la Universidad de Wisconsin en River Falls y siguiendo sus estudios en la Rhode Island School of Design, recibiendo un MFA en 1973. Renee también comenzó a trabajar con el vidrio como un estudiante en UW-River Falls, recibiendo un BFA en 1985. Las piezas de vidrio que estan publicadas son la culminación de más de veinte años de trabajo juntos.

Kathleen Elliot







In mid-2003, Kathleen shifted from glass beadmaking to botanical sculpture. Since then her work has evolved into two series of botanical sculpture - natural and imaginary - which have gained Kathleen recognition throughout the U.S.

A mediados de 2003,Kathleen cambió las cuentas de vidrio por la escultura botánica. Desde entonces su trabajo se ha desarrollado en dos serie de escultura botánica - natural e imaginario - que ha ganado el reconocimiento de Kathleen en todas partes de EE UU.

Bengt Hokanson y Trefny Dix





Bengt Hokanson graduated from Tulane University in 1993 with an anthropology degree and a minor in glass blowing. His large mixed media sculpture incorporating blown and cast glass with materials such as carved wood, fabricated metal and found objects explore a clashing ground between modern industry and nature.

Trefny Dix graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1993 with a B.F.A. in sculpture. Her Mixed media sculptures, incorporating cast and blown glass with steel, plaster, metal screen and natural fibers, represent figural forms and their fantastical accessories.

Bengt Hokanson se graduó de la Universidad Tulane en 1993 con un grado de antropología y uno menor en vidrio soplado. Su escultura realizada con tecnica mixta, que incorpora vidrio soplado y de molde con materiales como madera tallada,metales y objetos encontrados ,explora un arte que suena entre la industria moderna y la naturaleza.

Trefny Dix se graduó de la Universidad de Indiana Bloomington en 1993 con un B.F.A. en escultura. Sus esculturas de vidrio soplado, incorporando el molde y el vidrio soplado con el acero, el yeso, la pantalla metálica y fibras naturales, representan formas figurativas y sus accesorios fantásticos.

William Zweifel

Increible lo que logra este artista,que el vidrio simile un tejido!






A native of Chicago, William Zweifel now works out of his studio in rural Southern Wisconsin. Before devoting full time to his hot glass work, he was an entrepreneur, building a successful company that was sold in 1999. After its sale he opened Midland Studio and began to explore his artistic endeavors. Largely self taught, William has been fortunate enough to recently work with many successful artists in their studios and attend Pilchuck glass school to further develop his glass skills.

After seeing a piece of glass that was labeled as "woven glass" he became fascinated with the idea of actually being able to weave glass as a weaver would weave fiber. He sought out a friend who was a weaver to learn how fabric is created on a loom. This principle of manipulating the "warp" and the "weft" could be applied to his media of glass. Years of experimentation and a lot of broken glass later he finally created a true glass weave. Since that time he has been experimenting with creating form, texture, and color to further develop the final work.

Nacido en Chicago, William Zweifel ahora trabaja en su estudio en Wisconsin del Sur. Antes de dedicarse por completo a trabajar con vidrio, él era un empresario, construyo una empresa que fue vendida en 1999. Después de su venta él abrió el Midland Studio y comenzó a explorar sus esfuerzos artísticos. Trabajo con grandes artistas y asisio a la escuela Pilchuck para desarrollar sus habilidades con el vidrio.

Después de ver un pedazo de vidrio que etiquetaron como " el vidrio tejido " él se quedo fascinado con la idea de en realidad ser capaz de tejer el vidrio como un tejedor tejería la fibra. Él buscó a un amigo que era un tejedor para aprender como la tela es creada sobre un telar. Este principio de manipular "el urdimbre" "y la trama" podría ser aplicado a sus medios de comunicación de vidrio. Los años de experimentación y mucho vidrio roto lograron que finalmente logre un vidrio verdaderamente tejido. Desde aquel tiempo él ha estado experimentando con la creación de la forma, la textura, y el color para más lejos desarrollar el trabajo final.

John Chiles







John Chiles:"When I first started making the pieces that have evolved into my current work I was preoccupied primarily with making simple and elegant classical forms. Over time I began to elaborate on these forms by adding colorful shapes to their exteriors. With the addition of external elements the pieces began to take on more character like attributes. These expressions of character have become more emotional in nature as they have found their way to the insides of the vessels".

Neil Wilkin








Neil Wilkin is Britain's most important hot-glass maker. He is a product of the studio glass movement but within that two entirely different things: an artist in his own right with a vision that he uses his own skills to articulate; and a glass master in the old sense of the term, a leader coordinating the multiple skills and abilities of a team to realise the visions of other artists. These two separate though related aspects of Wilkin and his work need always to be borne in mind.

Alex Brand








Alex Brand:"My work involves various ways to combine layers of color and the encalmo technique, which is the hot joining of two or more separate blown parts. I've experimented with many variations of this technique and in my latest work I cut the top parts of the vessels into squares before they are reassembled hot. The pieces are then blown further, distorted slightly, and other details are applied. This gives the pieces an oriental effect reminiscent of Japanese pagodas. The color banding on the surface of these pieces reminds me of photos of the planet Jupiter so I have titled this series "Jupiter Pagodas". This is a new direction for me and quite different from my earlier and very brightly colored "Ripening Series", which I still make and take orders on."

Heike Brachlow







Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Heike Brachlow discovered glass while living in New Zealand, where she worked as a glassblower in a small studio in Rotorua. She received her BA in 2004 from the University of Wolverhampton and her MA in 2006 from the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited in the UK, New Zealand, Europe, Japan and in the USA. Heike draws her inspiration from her travels, human interaction, architecture and geometry. Due to a love of colour and a frustration with the limited palette available in glass, she makes her own coloured glass.

A liking for the unexpected results in sculpture that works on different levels and somehow transcends objecthood: the work physically engages the viewer. Monumental solid cylinders move effortlessly when touched, delineating time and space. Forms stacked on top of each other might fall at any moment to create chaos.

Heike is currently pursuing a research degree at the Royal College of Art in London.

Cilindros monumentales sólidos se mueven sin esfuerzo cuando tocado, delineando el tiempo y el espacio. Las formas apiladas sobre la cima el uno del otro podrían caerse en cualquier momento para crear el caos.

Heike actualmente realiza una investigación en la Real Escuela de Bellas Artes en Londres.
